We value our members and
recognize that as a volunteer
organization it takes various
skills and knowledge to operate
effectively. We
have nine committees who work
together toward the following
goals:
Career Development
– To help new planners break
into our growing profession and
to help all planners learn about
opportunities for growth and
advancement.
Corporate Partnerships
– To gain financial support for
our non-profit association goals
and to provide interaction
between our members and the
companies that can provide
products and services to assist
in meeting the needs of clients.
Council Liaison - To
expand chapter member
meetings (Councils), member
networking opportunities and
community events to new
areas throughout the state.
Government Relations
– to represent members’
interest before local
lawmaking bodies, as well as
to stay informed and have a
voice in our government so
that we can see that wise
decisions are made to
support all of our futures.
Large Firm Liaison -
To develop relationships
with key leaders of major
firms within the financial
community, promoting the
value of financial planning
and encouraging FPA
membership and career
development.
Meetings/Education
– To provide opportunities for
our members to gather and
network and to provide speakers
and other educational resources
to help our members maintain
their knowledge and skills and
earn CE credits where possible.
Membership – To
provide a variety of
outreach opportunities for
members, help the chapter
grow and strengthen the
financial community with
strong and sound principles,
as well as provide a forum
to assist financial
professionals in exchanging
business ideas and getting
to know each other better.
Pro-Bono – To give
back to our communities in
need. Pro Bono programs
target low
income individuals and
families striving to build
(or rebuild) assets and
improve their lives, but
cannot afford to engage a
planner on their own.
Professional Liaison
– To allow us to get to know
other professionals to share
expertise and find assistance we
can trust.
Public
Awareness – To provide
opportunities to generate
knowledge among consumers on
the value of financial
planning. We help to build a
stronger financial
community. FPAGA members
with members from other
profession organizations
promote events during
Financial Literacy month,
National Healthcare Decision
day, Financial Planning week
and throughout the year that
bring the community
together.
Public Relations - To
provide FPAGA news and
updates in a timely,
accurate manner to the local
media and the financial
planning industry. We help
to build FPAGA as a resource
for our local financial
planning community with the
media, the financial
planning professionals and
the consumer. Through our
activities during April
Financial Literacy month and
October Financial Planning
week as well as the various
collaborative events with
other like-minded
professional organizations;
we bring the news and the
stories of these events to
our members and to
consumers.
Student Liaison - To
promote the development of
student chapters and
maintain continuity among
student chapters relative to
events, career day, our
chapter’s scholarship
program and involvement all
chapter member events.
Technology
– To learn and share information
and connect people effectively
through our website.
