As a member of
the Financial Planning
Association, you are the first
to learn about new and pending
state and federal legislative
and regulatory provisions that
could affect the way you do
business. In Washington and in
the states, FPA legislative
efforts will continue to
leverage a more unified voice on
issues affecting financial
planning, the profession and
your clients.
The government relations office
of the FPA, based in Washington,
D.C., exclusively represents
members’ interests before
federal and state regulators and
lawmaking bodies. The FPA staff,
contract lobbyists and a network
of FPA members monitor pending
legislation, work directly with
lawmakers to draft bills and
testify in support of fair and
reasonable regulations for the
financial planning community.
As a member of the FPA, you have
a voice in shaping FPA positions
on various government
initiatives. The FPA will
provide one powerful and united
front in upcoming pieces of
federal and state legislation.
Your active involvement will
make the FPA even stronger.
